A car is one of the most expensive purchases you will make in your life, so why not keep it looking as nice as it did the day you bought it! There are many things you can do to keep your car looking great. If you have the time, there is an easy, extra step you can take while you wash your car……WAX IT! Your wash your car to keep it looking good, but a good coat of wax can really make it stand out! Not only that, but it acts as a protective shield for your paint job. The paint is what keeps the metal underneath safe and rust free but it is the wax that keeps the paint protected. See a pattern here?
First off, you want to make sure you throughly clean the vehicle from top to bottom, getting rid of any large particles of dirt and other contaminants that may have built up since the cars last cleaning. After the car is clean and dry, park it in a nice shaded area and get to work! All you need is your favorite brand of car wax, a few applicator pads, and a microfiber towel to wipe the wax away! Just apply a little bit (I stress this, as a little goes a long way) to the pad and, with a circular motion, work the wax into the car one section at a time. You will know when you are good when you have a nice, cloudy haze on the section you are waxing. Let it sit a minute or two, and then, with your microfiber towel or clean applicator, wipe away all the wax until the haze is gone and you are left with a smooth surface. Continue this, section by section, until the car is done. If you really want your car to stand out and look great, try polishing the car before you wax! The method is exactly the same as waxing. Just get your polish of choice, another applicator pad and towel and get to work. Most of the time you can get the wax, polish, and applicators in a set from your favorite local auto store. Remember to take your time, start from the to of the car and work your way down, and double check every section to make sure you got all of the polish and wax off the vehicle.
