Bigger vehicles

I see so many Bigger vehicles on the road these days, I don’t know how people can afford to drive them. My car is pretty good with gas mileage so I know the bigger trucks and hummers can’t be. Gas is so expensive these days! Do you own a big vehicle? I just can’t imagine the gas bill each week.

I have a Tundra, with the smaller v8. I'm getting 17mpg around the city. My v6 1999 mustang was getting 18mpg. If I put in the fuel additive that Midnight_Tech mentioned, I get closer to 18mpg. I've talked to some Tundra owners who switched out to duel exhaust and CAI getting in the high 19 to low 2x's on their MPG. Granted you are not taking off quickly, nor speeding.

It still hurts to fill it up though. But I normally fill it up once a month. I barely did 11,000 miles over the course of last year.

I always wondered what people with Hummers saw in them. Seems like they really caught on right after the 9/11 crashes into the World Trade Center and were a knee jerk reaction to that.

My husband got rid of his truck a few years back because he couldn't afford the cost of gas each week. I can't imagine how people can afford to pay for big cars today, especially in this economy with so many lost jobs and gas prices higher than ever.

Well, in our case, we don't have a lot of choice. Our family includes 8 people (two of which are in child safety seats) so we have to have something big - or else spend twice as much to go anywhere due to taking two vehicles - so we just do what we can and try to conserve.
