I wish I had it the other day as we were driving over to a friends house. We watched a guy in a big old beat up blue truck ahead of us, looked down and he had a large wooden fake bumper. It was painted a darker color to blend in, had notches around the license plate area and everything. I am amazed at the things people do to make their auto's drivable.

Well if they didn't charge and arm and a leg to fix a vehicle maybe people wouldn't have to be so creative. I had a car a long time ago that needed to be fixed and they wanted more than what I bought the thing for. I said the heck with it and got rid of it. Maybe some of those people that do things to make their car drivable are struggling financially. We don't know peoples situations. But yes, it does look funny and I have seen the wooden bumper thing and the bumper as a reap passenger too.

I disagree, most places can charge that much but it is your job as the owner of the vehicle to make sure you are getting the best deal. This applies for all products and services you are paying for, take the responsibility to not get slammed by high prices.

I think a wooden bumper would look pretty cool, personally. I guess people would have to check on the laws, though, and make sure it was legal, first.

I wonder if he was ever ticketed for that? Can you drive around with a wooden bumper? Personally, I would not be caught dead with my car looking like that. To each his own, I suppose.
