I look at news about cars almost daily, and every day 6-8 of the top 10 are about crashes. Either two-car wrecks, or someone hit a building, or someone ran over a pedestrian, they are rampant. It's a shame.
I think there are one too many distracted drivers out there. I think a lot of this new technology (cell phones, gps, etc.) can be very distracting to the most experienced driver.
I also vote for more distractions than ever. People are driving down the road talking on the phone, texting, surfing the internet. The last thing they are doing is actually looking at the road. It's really very scary. My friend and I came up with the idea of scramblers installed in every car. In which case every car would also be equipped with something like OnStar for emergencies. Cut down on tons of accidents immediately.
