A bit later in the Fall, I usually take the vehicles in to the tire center and have our snow studded tires put on. I was wondering who else does this or do you try to make do with just regular tires during the winter time?
We are not allowed to have chains or studs in my state. I have all weather radials and four wheel drive though. I don't have to much trouble with them.
It isn't necessary here in the southeastern US to change tires for different seasons. Since it rarely snows or ices here, the same tires work for all seasons.
I had no idea that some states made them illegal. Yeah it does sort of tear up the roads but we consider it mandatory where I live to get around in the snow. There are so many places we go where we need that help to get around.
I live in a place where it could go either way. I used to change them for the season but now I do not worry as much. As long as you have a good tire with lots of tread then you are ok around here.
