I've never liked seeing people eating or drinking at the wheel. But this morning-at 9am-I saw a man driving along drinking a can of beer. I wasn't fast enough to get his registration number, but if I had, is it even possible to report these things?
I've been guilty of drinking soft drinks (never alcohol!) in the car. But I only do it when I'm in stationary traffic, and I don't really see too much of a problem with that. But I never do it when I need to be actually doing some work.
Not in my car if you expect a ride. I have two options for people; attempt that in my car and then find yourself walking or do not do it in the first place.
I hate it when someone is eating or drinking while driving. It's not so bad as talking or texting on the cellphone, but it would just put your (and other people's) safety at risk.
Bennies, I didn't mean other people eating in the car. I meant the driver himself eating or drinking whilst in control of a moving vehicle-swigging from a bottle whilst steering one handed and not watching the road.
In the USA, having alcohol open in the vehicle is an offense, much less actually DRINKING it while driving. One would report that here by calling 911 or, if one has the number available, the local police.
I am with you in the not drinking alcohol in the car at all. However, I do drink in the car. Mind you I don't swing anything back, that is what straws are for. I don't eat a steak dinner at the wheel, but I do have a can of peanuts in the middle of the seats cup holder. I don't see anything wrong with it as long as you are not doing it while actively driving. I usually reach for peanuts when I am at the red light.
I don't allow eating or drinking in my car. That goes double for alcoholic beverages. I have to admit that once in a while I need my Frapuccino, but that is only once in a blue moon. I do believe that it is dangerous to get your hands off the steering wheel. Call me a worry wart, but I rather be save than sorry.
It is quite dangerous for the other people also, if the driver is not paying attention in driving, it is a bad habit which can cost some ones life, when you are driving never eat or drink it breaks yours concentration and can result in an accident.
I don't eat while driving, I don't like food in my car at all. I usually do have a bottle of water or tea with me though. I would never consume alcohol in a car, period. If I saw someone drinking and driving I would call the non-emergency police line.
It drives me crazy when I see people eating and drinking while they're driving. I don't understand why they do it because all it does is put everyone around them in danger. It's pathetic.
