Electric cars, this is happening

I can not believe how quickly the new electric car phase is taking off. Everyday there is more and more news about it. I really feel like things are changing. Makes me wonder if there are going to be enough qualified mechanics to work on them though.

I hadn't thought of that side of things. But you are right "Philio" we will need to retrain a great number of mechanics. But I'm still wondering about getting recharger stations out on the general roads. I now the cars can now go for a great deal longer, but say you love to drive long distances. Say from Canada to Florida every winter. You will definitely have to have stations along the way to recharge your cars.

Yeah and recharger stations are going to need there own mechanics and fix it guys as well. I guess the bright side of that is that it is going to create some new jobs that will be in high demand.

That's true! I have a friend who has one. They can go a very long distance with theirs, though, because it's a hybrid and not straight electric. Still, a distance as far as Canada to Florida would require several charging stops, I would think. I expect hotels and motels will eventually offer chargers to help draw people in.

Oh, I can just see it. Driving up to your motel room, and plugging the car in as well as your cell phone, DVD player and all our other electronics. I can see us being charged by the megawatt, instead of a standard room fee. How life will change! But then it has changed so much already.....

Gas stations may have reason to be concerned for the future. An electric car can easily be plugged in anywhere, and more establishments may just offer places where you can just "plug in".

Wouldn't it be cool if you could also plug yourself in and recharge? That way you can wake up fully rested instead of tossing and turning in a strange place. Sign me up!

I'm with you philio! I've always thought that if only we could bottle the energy young children have, we could make a million. But how much easier to just have one big plug, that could recharge yourself, your car, your equipment! Ah!:high5:
