This fixer upper I have in my garage seems to have some timing issues. It was owned by someone who blew off preventive maintenance, so I'm sure the timing belt was never replaced. How tricky is it to do it yourself??
Never tried. I can do changing oil, air filters and oil filters but timing belts aren't in my bag of tricks. I do wish you the best of luck. You may want to have a friend who has done it before be with you when you change it just in case.
If it's past when the manual said to change it----take it to someone who knows what they're doing---ASAP. If it breaks you could end up crushing your valves---a costly proposition.
