Fume Smell

This isn't about my car but my moms. I got into her car the other day and it has really strong fumes in it. It doesn't smell like gas but like exhaust. I can't tell where it is coming from. How can I tell where the smell is coming from and has anyone heard of this before?

I have heard of this from LPG-powered cars. If the installation is not top-notch, some of the LPG gets into the car. Thus, the smell. If this is indeed the case with your Mom's car, I strongly recommend that you let your Mom fix this immediately. LPG fumes and physical health don't sit together in the same car.

Perhaps the engine is burning oil and creating excessive exhaust fumes? Or could it be an electrical short somewhere that's burning out wires and insulation? If it's the LPG system leaking gas, it should be serviced immediately.

Have that looked at A.S.A.P..

If it's a leak, it needs to be fixed; if it's a poor installation job, THAT needs to be addressed. That is not only a serious health risk, but depending on the source, it could be damned dangerous if the lady smokes or has a passenger that lights up.
