Gas mileage and how to figure

I’m trying to figure out my gas mileage for each tank of gas that I buy. I have been switching gas stations a lot and I think that some gas is just better than others. I am not 100% sure how to figure this out. I think I need to write down the mileage when I fill up, but then what else?

Exactly. When you fill up, make a note of the odometer reading. When you fill up NEXT time, again note the odometer, and ALSO note how many gallons you just put in. Divide the miles (subtract the old reading from the new one) by the gallons, and voila! Miles per gallon.

Awesome! Thanks a ton ~ I knew it was something simple I just could not remember exactly what it was. Now you would get different mileage for different types of driving too right?
