My brother has the same attitude as far as going one mph over the speed limit. We always argue about this. I tell him there is no way you'd ever get a ticket for going that little above the speed limit. His point is that cops have little to do sometimes, and they need to meet their quota. I'd love to hear from someone who's gotten a ticket for going less than 5 mph over the speed limit. That just sounds ridiculous to me.They have a speed limit for a reason. Going over is breaking the law. While they *usually* don't give tickets until you get to a certain amount over, they *can* give a ticket for as little as one mph too fast, if they choose.
When I'm not paying attention to my speedometer, I usually catch myself going slower than the posted limit, though.
