License points

I just got a speeding ticket, and this means two points were deducted from my license. It is not that bad because there are twelve points to beginning with, and within a year if I don't have any other infractions, they will remove them. However, the insurance company will be having a field day with this, and they will continue increasing the premium for three years. Have you taken the classes that help you remove the points from the license and from the insurance? I heard that you can take them online? Is this true?

I have seen it announced on the AAA website. I think they are a little cheaper than the ones you do in person, and supposedly they have the same value.

The first and only time I got docked was for "Driving more than 10 mph but less than 25 mph above the posted limit" which ended up being 4 points for me. Thankfully it was years ago (almost eons) and they have all dropped off now.

I never realized the points were a "deduction." I was always under the impression that they accumulated and at a certain level, were grounds for license removal. I guess it's the same thing, just looked at from a different perspective.

Anyway, I know there are usually safe-driving classes you can take to remove the points, so it's worth looking into, but I don't know about the online part. Ask your insurance agent.
