Long distance trips

Motorcycles are not designed for long distance trips. Most of us know about that. But, have you ever used your motorbike for a long distance trip? How long was it?

I rode an hour one way a while back, and that was pretty rough on the backside, so I don't think I'd want to do a road trip on my bike. Of course, my bike isn't one of those fancy touring bikes that is make to be comfortable for hours, either!

I've done a couple of hours one-way for a weekend trip. I don't think I'd go any farther than that, and I don't think I'd do it without a couple days in between going and coming home. My butt was sore, but it was worth it.

I've got a friend who's very passionate about motorcycles. He would drive hundreds of kilometers to visit another state or province. He'd rather ride his bike than take the bus.
