New Pick Up Truck

I'm in the market for a pick-up truck. I intend to use it to haul a travel trailer and firewood, sometimes both at the same time. I would like to buy something used. What do you think is the best value for the money?

For what you're going to use it for, a 3/4 ton would be good, I think. It would easily haul the firewood and pull the trailer at the same time. As for make and model, since you're buying used, I don't think that would matter as much as how the pick-up has been taken care of.

You might consider a diesel 3/4 ton model. Diesels are built to haul heavy loads. If you're looking for a used one, look for one with the lowest mileage so you get the most use you can out of it.

Guy, have you checked eBay? You may get some good choices there. I'm sure there are other online alternatives.

As to price, I think anything beyond 50% of the brand new price would be charging too much. A car losses 30% of its value on its first mile alone. But that's just my opinion.
