Oil changing, how often

How often do you change the oil in your car, and what type of oil do you use?

I change the oil in my car about once a year and I use the cheapest stuff that I can find. Years ago, auto manufacturers came out and said changing oil every 3,000-5,000 miles is a waste of money and not necessary.

I change mine about every few months. I do not go by the mileage because it varies. I do not have a certain type I use, I just use the cheap stuff I find at my local grocery store, lol.

I'm with the others of using a pretty cheap type of oil. I change oil once every quarter of a year. I don't want to wait for so long to change oil.
