Replacing a door speaker

My passenger side door speaker died. It's kind of annoying having sound only in one front speaker. How do I replace that? Is it something I would have to take in and have done or can I do it myself?

Typically you would get a replacement speaker(s), they are usually sold in pairs. Places like Crutchfield.com will allow you to input your car information to select the correct speaker size. Then you need to take the door apart. Typically there are a few plastic plugs that you would pop out on the inside edge of the door, and a screw or two in the door handle. You would then typically slide the door panel up, and you would have access to the speaker. I would say 90% of the time the door speaker is just screwed in, but I've seen some newer vehicles that have them spot welded in. You would take the speaker out, plug in the new one, and put the door panel back together again.
