Swapping cars?

I just stumbled upon a website ( carpost.com[dot]au/swapcars.php ) on where you can swap your car with other people interested in doing the same. Have you ever thought about swapping your car?

That seems like it might be a good idea, I wonder how long that site's been up and if it's been successful so far? I've heard of similar ideas, like sharing vehicles in urban areas to cut down on gas and carbon monoxide. That seems to be working out ok but I don't know if the idea is catching on. Maybe when gas prices shoot to $10/gallon??

Not a chance in Hades, I'd never consider it. There's too many risks associated, and all it takes is one greedy, mechanically-minded twerp to sucker an unsuspecting party into taking on wheels that are "in trouble".

Yeah, I agree there are definitely risks with this type of setup. I didn't look very closely at the website, I wonder if they have some kind of guarantee or contract set up that you can get out of the trade if it turns out to be bogus. Otherwise, I don't see how a system like that would work.
