Tire Pressure sign on dashboard

Gah! I am so unhappy right now. I was just driving my car down the road as normal and all of the sudden the Tire Pressure sign popped up on my dashboard. The car still drives just fine, and the tires all seem to be in good shape. What else could be the problem?

Has the weather changed lately? This happened to me last year when it turned very cold. Pressure is usually higher in hotter weather. It's probably nothing to be concerned about. Just add some air.

I must be completely in the dark, because I didn't even know we had a tire pressure light in the car. Mine must be a broken one, because I've never seen it come on when I've had a flat tire. One of the things that can cause your tire to lose air is a nail. I know this because my girlfriend recently had a slow leak and when she finally took it in, they found a nail. At least they got to it before she was stuck on the road.

Your tires can look fine and still not be inflated to their proper pressure. I would just take it to your normal tire repair shop and have them check your pressure. They will top off your tires if needed and check for leaks.
