Which nostalgic car would you bring back?

You know how there's always at least one car that you will always have fond memories of, from a bygone era? Well, if you could choose one nostalgic car to own all over again, which one would it be?

For me, it's the Porsche 935, which was introduced in 1976. *Sigh*

I would bring back the 1955 Ford Thunderbird. Sure it was big and looked like a boat but it was also classy and elegant. Way better than driving a "momvan" around town.

I said it in a different thread, but the Fiat X1/9 should come back. It was a lot of fun to drive, small, fuel-economical, and very pragmatic on many levels. The body design would even fit the modern world, in my humble opinion.

I've driven a lot of really neat machinery, that particular one is probably one of three "most memorable" in my experiences.

Well it does not have to be this exact model, but the whole style I would love to see. The rear suicide doors, the running boards, the hood, the big old lights, and in black.

Well, the one I like is from the 80s, so not really *that* nostalgic, but I always liked the Datsun-Nissan Sentra (the one from when Nissan *first* bought out Datsun). It was squared off and I just really liked it.

There's so many that I would want to bring back, but if I had to choose one, it would have to be... the Dodge Charger ("Hey Charger!")... and the Ford GT40... and ok, the Pontiac Firebird as well. Sorry that's three!

Wow, that looks slick. There's a finely detailed restoration. Are 1940s cars your favorite style, Jason? I've always preferred modern cars but older ones like these never fail to turn a few heads when they are around. Have you ever owned or driven one?

Never owned one, but yeah, I love the earlier cars from the 30's to 60's. They have a personality that you cannot find elsewhere.

I would want an Opel wagon car once again :) My grandfather had one in the late 50s and 60s. I have never been on it, but my father kept on telling me about happy memories in that car when he was a kid.

The Pontiac Firebird is a good choice, but I'd bring back the Chevy Camaro. I had one when I was younger. That's a car I should have kept. I wish I could find one in my area to buy and restore.

Isn't that the truth!! The modern cars may be aerodynamic and whatever, but they by and large lack uniqueness and personality. Back "when," one could tell a car's make, model and year just by LOOKING. Now, there are too many look-alikes!

That's true Max. I wonder if it's because today's car designers lack creativity, or there are just too many car produced, so that designing a unique car now is more difficult than it is in the past.

I think it's a case of too many produced, and manufacturers copying each other with design, features and technology. But especially with your average passenger car, I also think it's because they don't actually build them to last.
