My wife said her grandfather taught her to make it her business to know how to change a flat on her car. This weekend, that's what we did for both our vehicles. Have you been through the drill for your vehicles?

Oh yes, and I agree 100% with her granddad. I think every driver should know how to change their own oil and change a flat tire too. What if you are stranded somewhere and there is no one to help you.

The possibility of being stranded is precisely why you need to know how to be able to get your spare on. "Learning by doing" on a dark night in the rain isn't the best way to learn....

I know how to change a tire, but I don't know how much good that would do if I'm driving the pick-up. I don't think I could lift the tire up to get it on the wheel or even get the truck jacked up enough. I do agree, though, that everyone should know how to change them. On the car, it wouldn't be a problem.
