Bogus Violations

I have been hearing of how police are using more and more speed traps in order to boost their ticket quotas. They are also being sending people tickets for supposedly passing a red light, but the person hasn't really done that. I have been told by friends that it is best if you asked to see the actual picture if you get such a ticket. Any examples of such thing in your area?

I actually watched a guy get pulled over the other day, I was stopped at the light ready to get onto the highway. I then while waiting for the light to changed, watched as another man zoomed through the intersection onto the ramp and right past the cop. I sat in awe watching the cop quickly write out one ticket, pop into his car and chase down the other guy. It was like I was watching a damn movie. Impressed, I saw same cop and same car pulled over about 4 miles up the road. That I find highly hilarious.

In my town, there is always a shortage of cops to hand out traffic tickets. However, lately it seems I see them at every turn. I wonder what's going up.

Haha that's hilarious Vroom. The cop wouldn't stop till you get the ticket you (don't really) deserve, right? Just drive carefully and don't let cop cars fool you.

They are pulling off more people with trailers now, checking lights, tags and weight for the bigger trailers. Also if you are hauling brush, it has to be covered with some sort of tarp.

I am okay with the trailer checks as so many people already never hook them up. It seems a little stupid that people are still doing this, I mean they do realize when they hit their breaks and I don't see it there is a chance for a wreck, right?

I think since nobody wants to pay taxes anymore and people are voting for politicians that promise no taxes, the municipalities have to raise revenue somehow. If you're obeying the law, it's no issue.

That's mostly true, but it's also true that there are 12-15 things on just about *every* car that they can give tickets for if they want to make your life miserable - even if you are not breaking the law.

I had a friend who got mouthy with a cop. Ended up getting tickets for things like a dirty windshield, over filled cigarette tray, and about 6 or 7 other things like that.
