Do you find dealership e-mails annoying?

A lot of car dealerships are asking for your e-mail address to keep you posted on events and specials. I almost wish I hadn't given mine out, because I get way too many e-mails from them. I especially hate the ones asking me to bring my car in for a trade-in! My car is running great and I am not about to sign up for another car note.

I actually don't mind them. If I'm not in the market, I can simply delete them. If I am, then I'm going to be looking for a good deal so they work. I have a friend that works for a dealership that is in the internet department so I'd support him if he had any good deals to send me by E-mail.

I haven't given my email to any of them. If I did, though, I would give them a "throwaway" email address and not the one I use most often. Why add more spam?

You know - why didn't I think of that? I suppose I should do that on a regular basis. That would eliminate a lot of the junk e-mail that I seem to get.

I still get emails from when I was looking two years ago asking me if I want to buy a vehicle still. I just setup a rule in my mail to move them to the trash can automatically.

Yes they are annoying because they email all the time. I would not mind an email once a month but they send like 10 a week from one dealership. I need to get around to opting out.

Just opt out. I would not want all of those emails myself as it is just too much. Sometimes I will sign up for things like that, but then I just unsub from them later.

Outlook rules are great for that and so is the right click option to set as "junk" for certain things. I use both on a daily basis and it makes it much easier. Out of no where I look at my spam/junk folder and over 50 things a day are sitting there all junk and out of sight.

I actually agree with Lamboguy, I don't think dealership emails are that annoying. If you might be able to get a good deal from one, then I think it's worth getting them. I guess I'm just so used to other spam that's even more useless and annoying. Things I've chosen to receive are the least of my problems.

Wow you all are lucky! I don't get email from my local dealership, I get automated phone messages! Just about every other weekend I get an automated message about some great deal or event they are hosting. If you hang up before the message finishes, the system calls you back. It's annoying!!

I would just give them a disposable email address (for the lack of a better term). I have already been getting tons of spam emails everyday without them sending the unwanted emails.

E-mail marketing is a real pain in the butt, I think. It's amazing how you get on these e-mail advertising lists for all kinds of stuff that you have absolutely no interest in!
