How many of you got this kind of video system in their cars or vans? I have a friend who installed this in his van and we could watch movies while we are traveling. His only request is that we should watch movies that he already watched so he won't distracted while driving.

I haven't and I don't want one for that very reason. I need to concentrate when I drive-I'm easily put off. So we rarely even have music going when it's me behind the wheel.

We have one too and it's a blessing when taking long road trips. My daughter and I will watch movies in the back seat when my husband drives. It kills the time and there is no whining, are we there yet? We also use headphones a lot so my hubby doesn't have to listen to the movie.

My van came with one already installed. The only problem is the earphones are starting to malfunction and not pick up the sound (they're wireless). Can you buy these separately? I need at least four more for the grandkids to use.

That is the problem with wireless so I still go for a wired headphones. We also have this in our van and just like Mustang said, there won't be complaining how much longer the trip will take.

There is a new system out that comes on while your sitting at idle and switches off when you go, thus allowing you to watch TV while you're stopped at the lights. That's bad right? I mean, how bad must your attention span be if you can't wait 45 seconds for a green light!

That's a good idea, still a bit distracting though. I think it's probably best if you all where headphones... It kind of kills any conversation for the driver though...

I agree with you that it will make the driver become bored when nobody will talk to him or her while driving. Sometimes we address issues at home while we are on the road.

Yes, but is blessed relief if you have two kids in the back seat of the car whining. If they have the headphones on, my wife and I can talk about anything we wish up front. It's so nice to be able to have a conversation with her without the kids butting in.

I have a dvd system setup in my vehicles for our daughter. Usually anything over an hour drive we put something on for her. It helps keep her from getting bored and crying.
