* Toyota says engines may stall
* Lexus recall would be second since Friday
* Toyota has not alerted U.S. regulators of recall
DETROIT, July 1 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) by Thursday morning had not yet alerted U.S. safety regulators of a recall of Toyota and Lexus models for possible engine stalling while driving, a NHTSA official said.
Toyota officials in Tokyo earlier on Thursday said the world's top automaker was considering "some kind of measure" that may include the recall of 270,000 vehicles worldwide involving eight of its Toyota and Lexus models.
No accidents or injuries have been reported, Toyota said, related to the issue.

Kudos to Toyota for admitting that something went wrong in the manufacture of these vehicles. It is NO JOKE to do so AND recall these said vehicles.

You know they said the brake problems were due to human error. Their safety and quality control panel cited drivers mistakenly stepping on the gas instead of the brake thus taking responsibility for the damages out of their hands.

I'm not saying that is Toyota's fault or the drivers. However, I still remember when I first started driving we had a period over the coarse of a few months where someone would hit the gas instead of the break and run into a building on just about a weekly basis. Typically it was an elderly person. A few radio stations even had a little jingle about it. I'm not sure if it was just a slow news period then, or if it is not happening as often anymore. But once in a while we still have the issue.

There was also an issue here where a bunch of "kids", they were around 17, took a toyota and hit a police cruiser. They tried to say the breaks failed, but it was found out they purposely did it.

Well I hate to say it but I do not think I am going to buy a Toyota. I am starting to think they are dealing with the economic crash by skimping on important things like breaks and engines....

I am honestly not sure what is going on but it seems many people end up on the wrong side of things lately. I have seen a few companies (not all car related) that are in the news for skimping on things, and its not like anyone is coming out totally and saying that either, at least company side they are not.
