That would be my main suspicion with the alternator being my second choice. I'm not sure how old the belt it so it might be worth my time and money to buy a new one and swap it out. Thanks.
The tough part about this for me is that since there is no longer a Saturn dealership, I have no place to get OEM parts that I know of. Any suggestions?
I'd have to say it was a Dodge Aspen. There was a carburetor problem that I could never figure out no matter how much I worked on it. The car had great power but when I floored it from a dead stop, it would sputter and die.
Whenever I start my 1997 Saturn SL2 it squeals really loudly and then it stops. I'm thinking I need to change out the belt or the tensioner. Before I start ripping things out I just want to confirm it.
