What does it mean when the engine keeps heating up?

I used to have an old truck that would start overheating if you were idle for more than a minute or two. Using the air conditioning would usually make it worse, but running the heater would help some. I think the problem might have involved the radiator, but I ended up selling it for other...

    Who smokes?

That's interesting, because I also used to be a casual smoker. I never found it to be very addicting, I'd smoke a few cigarettes a week at the most. Last year I probably smoked two or three of them over the course of the entire year. I've always known cigarettes were unhealthy, but after reading...

    Arguing over Radio in Car

I think the driver should have the final call regarding things like the radio and air conditioning, but I usually let my passengers have some input too. I prefer to drive, so I don't think it's fair for me to always get my way. I guess I just feel like a little bit of compromise goes a long way...

    Best Wipers

I've also heard good things about the Rain-X brand, but I currently have Michelin windshield wipers. They seem to be working great so far, so I'd recommend them as a solid alternative to Rain-X.

    Cool bike mod

In addition to looking cool, I bet a motorcycle like that would be pretty fun to ride. I could see something like that becoming popular in a region that rains a lot, like the Seattle area.

    Car market going electric?

I'm not sure I'm quite ready for an electric car, but I probably will get a hybrid car the next time I'm in the market for a new vehicle. The improvement in gas mileage will be substantial enough with a hybrid, and I won't have to deal with the hassles involving electric cars.

    Gas prices plummetting

The gas prices here haven't gone down that dramatically, but any decrease is always nice. I thought that this seasonal change was common though. Isn't the price always a little higher in the summer? I guess I just never heard that this was something unusual this year.

The highest mileage you've ever had on your car

Almost 500,000 miles is really impressive, that must have been a great car. It's a shame that someone hit it like that, but at least you got plenty of use out of it first!

The highest mileage you've ever had on your car

What is the most miles you've ever put on a car? I was close to 200,000 miles once, which I thought was pretty good. I've heard that if you take really good care of some cars, they can actually last much longer than that.

    Overhang space

The house I grew up in had overhang storage just like this. We didn't use it all the time, but it's great for things you don't need very often. As for securing the beams, I don't see any major challenges to that. I'd recommend this for exactly the types of items you mentioned. We weren't big...

    Slow drivers

I feel the same way as Skippy, especially if there is only one lane. If there is a passing lane, then I don't care how slow you drive. Other than that, I think it's common courtesy to at least drive close to the speed limit. I understand that there are exceptions if you're having problems with...

    Performance chips

I think most of us would agree that it's clearly not worth getting a performance chip at that rate of savings. It's an interesting idea though. If it would pay off after a few years, I could see it being a decent investment. Is it possible that they will ever get to that point with these?

    Snoke test

My brother had a similar problem a couple years ago, and they were able to find the leak with this test. I wasn't cheap though, I think they charged him about a hundred bucks. As for doing it at home, maybe it's possible, but I would guess it's something that requires special equipment. You're...

    OnStar is watching you

Similar to Vroombaby, this doesn't really surprise me. I was already aware of the iPhone situation mentioned at the bottom of the article, but I still kept my iPhone. These companies will do anything they can to get information about you if they can use it to make money. If the service they...

Do you find dealership e-mails annoying?

I actually agree with Lamboguy, I don't think dealership emails are that annoying. If you might be able to get a good deal from one, then I think it's worth getting them. I guess I'm just so used to other spam that's even more useless and annoying. Things I've chosen to receive are the least of...

    What Exactly is "Candy Paint"?

If you saw the movie The Fast and the Furious, you probably noticed those really shiny paint jobs on some of the cars. I think this is popular in Hip Hop culture too, I hear it referenced in rap songs a lot. I assume they call it "candy paint" due to how the colors look like really bright candy...

    Car Colors

I think MaximumSpeed's list is pretty good. Brown seems to be a color that has really faded in popularity. I'm a little surprised green isn't more common, I think some cars look decent in green. Another color I see here and there is yellow. Personally I think this really depends on the car. I...

IMSA GT3 Clinched by a 15 year old driver who can't leaglly drive yet

I agree with Alexus, but that's still a remarkable achievement for someone so young. Even with the advantages he clearly has, he must also have a lot of talent. Hopefully this early success doesn't make him overconfident. I can imagine how I'd feel with all of that attention at that age.

    Brake problems

My breaks squeak a little, but it's not that loud. I wasn't too worried about it, but Skippy's story has made me more concerned. It seems to gradually be getting worse too, so I guess I better get them checked out soon.

    Video games in the car

Hotrod25, I'm pretty sure it would be possible to install a gaming system in your car. It would probably be more difficult than a standard TV and DVD setup though. Thankfully hand held games have come a long way too, but I still think having an advanced gaming system in a car would be really...
