    Whitney Houston died

What a waste of tremendous talent Houston's death is. She has a child and had sold over 200 million albums, or something like that. Drugs, alcohol and a bad marriage certainly takes its toll.

    New motorcycle

My neighbor has just bought a brand new Harley motorcycle. He retired recently, and this bike has been on his bucket list. I'm just waiting for him to ask me if I want to try it out. I'll report back once I do.

    I want a new car

Imagine what that money would do to fund your retirement savings, college savings or anything else that is looming out there in your future. Invest it instead, drive your old car for another year and think back to how smart you were to resist temptation. I know how you feel, Flipit. I have...

    Super Bowl Auto Ads

I totally missed the Super Bowl and all the ads. I guess I will see them over the coming weeks as they hit the air waves. I don't watch football, so I don't always know what I'm missing. The commercials are fun to watch.

    Slowest gas pump ever

There's this country gas station I have to stop at sometimes when I visit my sister. It has the slowest gas pump on the face of the earth. I despise the clunking sound it makes almost as much as I do the waiting.

    Keyless ignition

I've always wanted a remote starting ignition, but I've never checked into getting one. Maybe this is something I could finally reward myself for because I've waited so many years to actually get one. I used to dream of this feature.

    Boom Boom - loud

It's the bass for sure. That's what you hear when cars drive up to you and you want them to turn down that music and ruckus immediately. It's noise pollution if every I've heard one. Your daughter needs to be courteous of other drivers and pedestrians when she is out and about.

    Germs and pumping gas

I was just reading an article where testing shows the number one dirtiest place for people and touching everyday objects was the gas pump handle. I pump gas all the time and then go right back to eating. I'm going to change my ways and at least keep a hand sanitizer in the car and use it.

Why Is Toyota Still So Popular

I admit I have a better feeling about Japan when it comes to cars and other products after their devastating tsunami. Those folks deserve a break if anyone does.

    Olympics

I like watching the Winter Olympics the best, too. I forget to watch some years because we don't do a lot of television watching unless we're cooped up in the house.

    Headlights Are So Clean

Ammonia and water I've been using a solution of light ammonia and water about once every three months on my headlights. My father used to do this, so I did it, too. I thought it was working fine. Of course, I never mix ammonia with anything other than water because it can emit dangerous fumes.

Why Is Toyota Still So Popular

I've never driven a Toyota, so I'm sure I don't know why it's remained a popular automobile. I probably will never buy one, so whoever does buy them is a different type of consumer than I am.

    Built-in or portable?

I'm tired of spending lots of money on built-in sound systems in vehicles. I'm thinking of just carrying around my own music systems. Between computers, mp3 players, and other portable music devices, why should I spend money on yet another expensive bit of equipment? I'm not in my car much these...

    Refurbished battery

I believe in getting a new battery when the old one plays out. My father had a battery blow up on him when I was a child, so I've been cautious around, and slightly afraid of, batteries ever since then. I'll save money other places.

    Bikers of yesteryear

I'm thinking James Dean and even Marlon Brando, but that does go back quite a way, doesn't it? I've always associated bad boys with bikes. I grew up with Evel Knievel and all the old chopper movies.

    Favorite car color?

I've read that silver and white are the two most popular automobile colors. I have no intention of ever buying a silver or white car. My choice would be red, green or blue. What color car would you rather have if you could have your choice of any color, regardless of the current trends in car color?

    Went To The Auto Show

The day I'd sink $375,000 into one vehicle would be the day everyone in the family should have my head examined. While it's for advertising purposes, I'd imagine, who would buy such a thing? Then again, there are cars that run upwards of a million dollars, so I guess there's a fool born every...

    Automatic car washes

Automatic car wash talk I never thought about getting sick, but I do feel a bit claustrophobic when I think about getting stuck in there. Sometimes the soapy water gets inside the car a little. My gaskets need changing in the windows. Other than that, I do okay with them. I used to worry about...

    Heated Seats - I Wish

I love heated seats, too I rode with a friend the other morning. She had the seat all nice and toasty for me. As soon as I slid in, I knew I was going to get heated seats in my next car. We deserve a few creature comforts if we're shelling out money for a new car. Her new car was a Ford. It was...

    Getting old

Just wait a few years, HotRod If you feel old at 39, just wait a bit. Look, guy, every day is a gift, so get out there and enjoy the gift of the day. If it's snow, then ski. If it's raining, then stomp in a few mud puddles. If you're as old as I am, and if it's raining and cold like today, curl...
