2003 Stratus with 7K

My grandmother no longer uses her car (she is in an Assisted Living home) and my dad is looking to sell her car. There are only 7,000 miles on the car but it's a 2003. I know it's had excellent upkeep (my dad took care of it).

It's a Dodge Stratus and I've only owned Chevy's. What do you think would be a good price for it? It is not under any warranty anymore. The year kind of scares me, but with so little miles on it I'm thinking of buying it.

You should check out the Blue Book value of the vehicle. 7000 miles is great for that old of a car. I'm sure your dad wouldn't sell you the car for the same as he'd sell it to a stranger. Just talk to him about it.

I wouldn't worry about the year, with so few miles on it! That is a real true story of a car being owned by a little old lady, who only drove it to church on Sundays! But, I agree with Lamboguy - look it up in the Kelly Blue Book and go with the going rate for a car of that make and year in top condition.

I wouldn't worry about the year, either! Sounds like a great deal. Do check the Blue Book, and make sure you check stuff that degrades over time. I bought a van that was well kept, but even well kept vehicles have rubber things and hoses and tires that may need to be replaces.

I go talk to my dad tonight.... He called last night and wants to deal! :) The dealership would give him $7000 for a trade-in value. I will Kelly Blue Book it later... How exciting!
