If you planned to get a new car, would you buy a 2010 or 2011 car? Getting the latest model is great, but unless you planned to trade it the next few years, it would be much more cost efficient to get the older one.
If I was going to buy a new car, I would definitely get the 2010. I don't believe the difference in price justifies getting the newer model, so I'd save the money.
I would also go for the 2010 model. It is hard to justify buying a brand new model when you know how much value it loses as you drive it from the showroom!
I bought my truck in December of 2009. I searched and searched for a 2009 model thinking I would save some money. But unless I wanted a bare-bones, work truck, I was out of luck. The nearest model I wanted was in North Carolina. But I did get darn close to the price that was asking for.
I would opt for a 2011 model, unless I could get a 2010 for substantial savings. 2010 models are already a year old and, unless it's a car that retains it's value longer than most other cars, it's already lost about 20% of it's value.
