A cheaper alternative?

I read about gas prices going down in another thread here, which is great, but the fact is that the prices are still crazy now. In this situation, have you ever considered a cheaper alternative to driving, for instance using a motorcycle?

I've thought about getting one of those scooters (the street-legal kind), and pulling a trailer behind it so I can do pretty much anything I need to. Haven't yet, but still thinking about it.

I've thought about it a lot. I've always wanted a bike. I can afford it and it would offer some help with the gas crisis. I haven't taken the plunge yet, but I'm close.

I've wanted a motorcycle for a good 5 years or more now. Sadly the money is not there for one.
