I have never done any trailer towing before. I know that learning to back up with a trailer is tricky. What's the best way to learn it and get it down pat?
Practice practice practice. You have to remember everything is opposite. It takes some work to train your mind how to turn the wheel opposite you would when driving. I would practice in someones yard backing up and pulling out, sort of like practicing driving.
My husband took me to a big, empty parking lot and let me experiment a bunch in a situation where I couldn't hurt anything. I don't tow often, so when I do, I really have to concentrate on what I'm doing.
