Is the Blue Book price the one that everybody still using? I have been hearing that people are getting pretty bad deals when they go to trade in their car for a new one. Is there any way to get ahead of the dealers? How can I make sure I don't get a bad deal?

I was told that the Blue book is still the one they use at the dealers. I personally like to get all my information from edmunds.com. They give you great ideas as to how to get the best prices and how to handle pushy sales people.

Both of those sources of current market value are good ones to go by. Every time I've done a trade as part of a sale, I've gotten what it's worth. If they are hungry for a sale, they will give you what it's worth.

I recommend taking a few moments to look up several similar sites (I can't remember the other one off the top of my head, but I know KBB was only one of two or three very well known ones).
