Body Shops

How do you pick a good body shop? I have a bit of rust on the car I normally drive and I'd like to get it fixed. I'm concerned about the paint matching up and the repair being permanent. Are there any questions I should ask before I decide what body shop to take it to?

I chose mine by word of mouth. When I first moved here, whenever a friend needed body work, I'd ask where they went and whether they were happy, then I'd look at the repair myself. If I didn't like the look of what was done, or my friend didn't give them a bad report, I crossed them off my list. By the time I needed a shop myself I had it narrowed down to two and chose the one that was most conveniently located. They have given me awesome service ever since, and I never hesitate to recommend them to others.

Word of mouth is always best, I agree. If you don't have many contacts to fall back on then I would take it to a couple of places for estimates and see how they treat you/what they say. I have had vastly different opinions on the same work before now, you just have to get enough to find the middle ground.
