Brake Problems

I was driving today and noticed that my brake pedal kept going down further than it should. I stopped and checked the fluid, which was fine. I replaced the rear shoes a couple months ago, but the fronts didn't need replaced yet. What would cause a pedal to go down further than it should? It's a '94 Honda Accord.

Scary. Fluid's fine. Brake pads are newly replaced. What can be wrong? Have you checked the cable that connects your break to the breaking mechanism?

It's possible that some of the work the shop did for you was done improperly. Maybe something they did needs adjustment. I think you should take it back to them.

I had a problem like that once. It turns out that the shop that did the work made a mistake and used the wrong pads for my kind of car.

I did it, not a shop. And I'm pretty confident in my work. That's why I think it may be the master cylinder or the brake booster. I haven't checked them yet because I've been busy, but that's what I'm going to check.

It's great to know that. At least you're pretty confident of the cables that you touched. For as long as your break works fine, except for that extra inch down, you have time in your hands :)
