My dad drove around for 15 or 20 minutes to find a place where gas was 5 cents cheaper a gallon. He bought, like, 15 gallons. So he used like 2 gallons ($7-ish) of gas to find a place to save 75 cents! I don't get that, at all!
That is why I always make sure to buy gas when I am close to where it is cheap. I don't wait until the tank is empty. With prices changing so quickly (almost everyday), I like to get it while it is cheap.
I know a few people who do that too, unless it's seriously cheaper it's really not worth the extra driving. I usually go to the same place every time because I know it's 8-10 cents cheaper than anywhere else, but I plan it out to get gas while I'm around it.
I know I've probably said it before, but these gas prices are seriously hurting me. I paid $3.74 a gallon this morning. I got $30 and only have 1/4 tank. I don't know how I'm going to be able to keep gas in my car at this rate.
With gas prices being as expensive as they are, many people are doing really crazy things. They think they're saving money but really they are just wasting their time and money.
Thankfully I live a block away from the cheapest place in town when it comes to gas. I'm glad that I do, but I wouldn't go driving in order to find somewhere cheaper.
Most of the news stations around here post the cheapest gas on their websites. I check it every few days just to keep up on who is the best. I'm not going to drive far for it though.
Yeah Sweet, I'd have to say that's pretty dumb. He doesn't realize the gas he's wasting by driving around looking for cheap gas. It's like people who drive faster to get to the gas station because they're about to run out of gas. They don't realize the faster they go, the more gas they burn.
Haha...My dad does this too. He tries to limit himself with it though. If he doesn't find a place within a mile he just buys it wherever. Kind of a gamble though.
