The government is going to be requiring higher fuel economy of new vehicles in the next few years. By 2016 average fuel economy is set to reach 35.5 mpg. Do you think it can be done?

Yeah, I think that it can be done. With the new electric cars that are coming out we should be able to make a huge improvement. Still, I hope the government can offer business and people reasons to buy them.

I think they've "had the technology" for quite a long time, but that the oil special interests have blocked legislation for years. I mean, we can put a guy on the moon, for crying out loud!

What about for bigger cars or trucks? How do they figure it can work? It will be a while before there are nothing but electric cars....

I think the first ever fuel efficiency target set for commercial vehicles was just set this last October. By 2018, heavy trucks are supposed to reduce carbon emissions by 20 per cent.
