Car trade-ins

I have seen many people trade in their cars but after sometime, they realize that the car they had before was better in many aspects.

What are the factors to look at before taking this step?

You should make a list of things you like about the car you are trading in. Then, when you look at other cars you are considering purchasing, see if it has those features. If it doesn't, you should decide if those features are features you can do without.

They should look to see if they can pay the new loan amount. I know some people who have traded in a vehicle and with that new car got a much bigger payment.

I have never traded in any vehicle and wanted it back.

I have only traded in one vehicle and I must say I definitely did not miss the old one. I would look at how much they are willing to give you on a trade in as well. Sometimes you are better of selling it on your own rather than trading it in.

Additionally, if you can talk to the salesman about purchasing *before* you tell them you have a trade-in, you might be able to get a better dea.

I'm different then, because I absolutely love getting a new car. I don't mean new used. I mean new unused. The smell is so good and the feeling of driving something pretty much just made is good. Everything works perfect on it. I love the feeling. I don't get attached to my cars so I'll gladly take a new one if I can.

I've always heard that you can get a better deal selling your car privately, so that's what I've done in the past. I suppose a trade-in might be more convenient, but I'd hate to let a dealer rip me off.

As far as missing my old cars, there are times when I feel that way, but I think that's just a normal part of life. Sometimes you have to move on to something different. As long as you like your new car, you shouldn't be unhappy.

I traded in a car once. I don't recall specifically how much I got, but I felt satisfied. The weird thing is that someone just two blocks from me bought the car. I didn't know them, but it sure was weird seeing my car driving around from time to time.

I love the feeling of a new car too. However, I normally get so attached to the cars I purchase so getting rid of these normally is a hard thing to do.

The ideas here about trade-ins are really good and they are things I want to consider next time.
