Crossovers

Is there any hope on the horizon that the auto makers are going to get out of this "crossover" design mode?? I would never buy one because I just can't deal with how they look. (They remind me of the old 1970's "Gremlin"....)

I'm not fond of them either. I either want a truck or an SUV. Not a combo of the above. I don't know what is in manufacturer's minds now with all of the stuff they have thrown out there. As I said about the SmartCar, I wanted one until I started reading more information about them and learned how unstable they are. They aren't all they were cracked up to be.

I am with you guys. I don't know who is thinking this new models. However, sooner or later we will get us to it and will end up buying something like it.

I'm in the car business, and it has been my experience that prospective buyers either love them or hate them. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground on this at all. About twice as many people hate them as love them is my informal data on it.

For the most part I agree. However, I think the Chevy Equinox is better looking than most. It's got good stats too---32mpg and it's a "Top Safety Pick" by Consumer Reports.
