Defensive Riding

Whenever I ride my bike I always assume that no one sees me. I figure that's the best way to stay out of an accident. What do others do to stay safe?

I read this motorcycle riding book about how you should imagine a protective bubble around you when riding. That causes you to be aware of your surroundings and to pay attention to who enters your space.

I have a friend whose son rides a motorcycle. He wears this vest that protects his chest and back. He also had to take a class before he could get the motorcycle endorsement on his license. It`s very scary to me. So many people get seriously hurt on those bikes. I always try be on the look out for bike riders.
