Derby and the jaws of life!

I went to a Demolition Derby last night and in heat 5 they had to stop the heat and get the Jaws of Life out. It was very scary! This one small car was smashed between a mini-van and a larger car. It was the first hit of the heat. The guy was okay (thankfully) but they took him to the hospital.

Ouch. I have not been to one in forever. And I have never seen the fancier ones like the school bus stuff, or trailer figure 8's.

It was pretty scary. We are going to go to another derby next Saturday. I hope it's not the same. I mean you know as a driver that there is a risk of being hurt (or worse). My hubby did derbies for years and never really got hurt.

Those are the chances those guys take I guess. It's fun to watch and fun to do, I'm sure, but it can also be dangerous. They have my respect.

That's pretty scary. I would love to participate in a derby, but when you go into it you have to know the risks you are taking. I guess it's just like anything else in life.
