Does your dog "know" your car?

My dog can tell the sound of someone familiar pulling into the driveway. If it is someone he likes, he starts wagging his tail and crying at the door until they come in. If he is not familiar with it, or someone he doesn't like, he starts barking. Very helpful to let me know if I should open my door or not!

My two dogs absolutely know our cars. They definitely recognize the sounds of our vehicles. Also, whenever one of us has been away from the house, if they are outside when we drive up, the first thing they do is go around and sniff all the tires!

I used to have a very protective guard dog, and the day I brought home a new car, I could see her snarling and growling from far up the driveway, lol. She had the most quizzical look on her face when I walked up to her out of the unfamiliar machine.

I have this recurring issue with my dog peeing on the tires. I finally figured out that he does it to "mark" it. He definitely knows my car!

Yeah they know the sounds of our vehicles. It does not help that they sit at the window when both of us are gone.

My dogs are pretty amazing like that. They seem to be able to hear the vehicle before it even pulls in to the driveway. They know what our cars sound like, and they know what our best friends cars sound like. Any other car pulls in and they go crazy.
