Doing our part

I have been diagnosed to have adult-onset asthma. Part of the reasons why I have this is because the air is just not as pure as it used to be when I was growing up.

I have been very vigilant in making sure that my car does not contribute to the pollution in my city. What about you guys?

Well, if you are still driving diesel or gas-fueled cars, I suggest that you get regular car check-ups at your friendly neighborhood garages so that your car is not emitting harmful greenhouse gases into the environment.

I would love to have a hybrid car so that I could leave less carbon footprints into the atmosphere. Currently I just try to travel less and always drive well and steadily at posted speed limits.

For me, the best way to help our environment is to drive less. In this way, we can reduce air pollution and minimize traffic jam. If I need to visit short distance places, I prefer to use my own bicycle instead of using car.

Oh that was the term I was looking for! CARBON FOOTPRINT. We really should lessen our carbon footprint in the world today. Get on a carpool or get on your bike.

Yeah, I've been doing a lot of walking to the neighbors these days. It's like it was in the days when I was a kid. We used foot power or "shanks mare" to go everywhere when I was little. We kids had every path wore down where we traveled it.

i try...

I have really been trying to walk more and drive less, but some things in my town are just unreachable when walking or riding a bike. Plus, the whole town is on a hill, so while it may be easy going down, it would be almost impossible to return home from anywhere. I do carpool alot though.

About all I can do is give my car the regular check-ups when it needs it. I don't do any unneeded driving either. Right now that's about the best I can do.
