Yes buddy. Its so useful to have a GPS system in your car. It will map you to your destination so easily

I have yet to get one though I've wanted one for some time now. I have hinted to my kids and to my wife but to no avail. I guess I'm just going to have to break down and buy myself one.

I have one but don't often have it installed. I find it distracting and that worries me-I argue with it when it wants me to go a stupid way. Instead I just turn it on when I struggle to find my way.

I'm with you Classic. I only use the GPS when I don't know the road where I'm going. Sometimes the GPS will tell you wrong information and you will travel longer. We should use our instincts more than the GPS. The GPS is only a tool and the decision still lies on us.

I agree-you should in part be able to navigate via signs that are clearly posted. I have had my GPS try and send me in the opposite direction-in fact one weekend it completely failed to send me to the right place in any of three journeys. So I gave up on it for a few months. After a software update it was a little better.

My friend has a TomTom and I actually like it; I have thought about getting one for my car. It has never steered her wrong, but I am generally great with directions naturally.

I have GPS but I don't use it much because I would become dependent on that tool for directions. We should read signs on the road and not rely so much on the GPS.

My better half likes to think that having an iPhone is easier to deal with than a GPS in the car. I do not really mind since I am the type who prints out directions before leaving, but you know. :D

I've borrowed my son's unit on occasion and I find that it sometimes gives me stupid dirctions. Like the time I was almost to a store and could see it across the road and the stupid thing was telling me to make a U turn in the middle of a four way. I just turned the stupid thing off!

The GPS is way more useful if you have a modicum of common sense with it. I'd love to try one though that has one of the comedy voices.

The wife has the portable one and I have one built into the stereo. I personally like the stereo one in my truck. It lowers the volume of the music when it speaks, shows you if you are over the speed limit and do not have it on the dash.

I love them. It is so much easier then trying to read a map or directions, and we often go to new places so it helps finding them.
