Healthy weight

Its all over the place, a friend just posted on Facebook "Every time you gain a pound, God kills a kitten". And today at work we had the quarterly visit by the evil nurse round. I hate it, but you know, I would rather exercise and live longer than die young. ;)

Ekk, that first quote is kind of scary! I would rather do the hard work to stay healthy too. I am lost because so many of my friends don't seem to get that.

I know its easier to put it on than it is to take it off, but no pain no gain right? I am hoping within the next two months some pounds drop. I am doing all I know how but it is a slow process.

I have managed to stop gaining weight but I haven't lost any. I guess the older you get the harder you have to work at it. Still I do not want to be one of those guys having a heart attack at 50.

I'm really not trying to lose weight, just not gain it. I know I don't do enough for my body though. I could definitely use a better diet.

With age comes the craziness of trying to keep the metabolism on the up and up. Right now I know there is a difference between now and ten years ago for me. Take a flashback to tend years ago and think of all the things you did different - you might be amazed at the shock like I was.

Yeah, I hear that vroombaby. I used to eat like a pig 10 years ago, because I could handle it. Now for me, I have to watch what I eat or else I will gain weight. I am at a good weight now though and I Think I will be ok.

I am trying out a new thing for the next two weeks so if it works and I am right on target for it, I will have better updates. Right now though I can not wait for lunch!!

What diet are you using? I recommend you just change your lifestyle for healthy foods all the time. I find that diets never work because you just gain the weight back.

It is not a straight "diet" and its not a fad either, I am against those. Right now I am just concentrating on the different types of foods to eat rather than just eat all the bad ones. Fats, proteins (lean) & carb's (good ones).

So far since last week I have lost 3.4lbs, since I started to change the first time (earlier this year) with what I eat, total has been 17.6lbs.

I think you're pretty smart to be against those. I have learned some healthy habits and outside of that I try not to get so upset over being the perfect weight.

I am happy, in the past week 3 people have said I look like I have lost some weight. I haven't been trying to lose weight. I think the healthy habits are kicking in and it seems normal now. Low and behold I have lost almost 10 pounds since I last checked.

That's great news. Complex carbs are really great for you.. not only because they are healthier by not causing such a large insulin spike, but because they are more satiating. Glad to hear about your weight loss, and glad even more it's gradual too. People who come around and say they lost 10 pounds in a weak by not eating anymore than 800 calories a day are not going to stick with that long term. You seem to have located your balance.
