How far do you go?

As the holiday season gears up, I was just wondering how far everyone has to drive to spend time with their families? I get to stay local for Thanksgiving with my boyfriend's family but have to drive 7 hours to the wilds of northern Michigan for Christmas to be with my family.

Wow - that's intense. I fortunately live within an hour of all my family, so we all try to converge on someone's house each holiday and get together. The family members that aren't in the area are far enough away that they have to fly in to join us or we have to fly out to see them.

It depends on which side of the family. My parents live about six hours away, but my inlaws live on the same street. Most often we have holidays with my inlaws!

I'm pretty lucky. All of my family members live really close to me. The most I have to drive is like 70 miles.

I have to drive all the way to Idaho from Washington. I know I'm lucky though, because many people have to drive much further or even fly. The drive is nice too, so I can't complain

An hour tops, depending on who is holding Thanksgiving this year. If the some of the roads where paved it would be closer to a 45 minute trip.

We live in the northern Rocky Mountains and our families all live east of the Mississippi. We stay put during the holidays and do all our visiting at summer family reunions every couple of years.
