I miss my truck!

Last week a driver who wasn't paying attention backed up into my parked vehicle while I was sitting in it. She damaged it so bad that the door wouldn't even close. I am so annoyed because my truck was supposed to be ready to pick up tomorrow. I called today only to find out they have not even started working on it! Meanwhile I am paying daily for a rental. What a pain.

oh, wow, that really sucks! How come your insurance isn't paying for a rental? When my mom's car got hit last year, the insurance paid for her to have a rental car while it was getting fixed.

That is an extra on your policy and apparently I don't have it. I am thinking about calling the lady that hit me and making her pay the rental bill. I really don't think it's fair I should have to pay it since she's the one who wasn't paying attention and hit me.

Actually, you would be well within your right to ask her to pay that. If she refuses, you could take her to small claims court, which is easy. At worst, the judge would probably require the two of you to split the costs.

I do not understand why people don't take two seconds to look before they back up. I can't tell you how many times I was just a hair away from being hit by someone backing up!

Did you get your truck back? I always thought that if someone was at fault that they had to pay for the rental? It stinks that you don't have another vehicle that you can drive.

Hotrod, I live in a No Fault sate, which means each individual's insurance covers just their vehicle. I did get my truck back finally last Thursday evening. Which led to a slew of other problems with the rental company.

I'm glad you got your truck back, but sorry to hear that you had more problems. Did you have to pay for the rental yourself the whole time? That could get pricey!

I would be raising more than an eyebrow at them thats for sure. Did you have a guarantee on the date of service or anything like that? I would think your lawyer can take care of that during the court case if you go, are you doing one?
