Is buying a new car a waste of money? I've heard that a new car loses 10% of it's value just by taking it off the lot. Is this true?

No buying a new car is never a waste of money. Who told you? Yeah sure the car loses some value if you are going to sell it in second hand. Buy a car of your choice and you will never fell such things.

buying a new car is not a waste of money if you plan to have a car for yourself for a span of five to six years. if you are not of that type then selecting a secondhand car would be better

Second hand cars are better than new cars and i prefer them and i have the opportunity to have many cars in a years time , since i rotate my cars quite often doing sales

i dont think so

if u are new to learning a car then buy a old one. Learn driving and then go for a brand new one. If u already know driving well then its better to go for a brand new one:)

Its not waste of money if u r a car passionist. And if u r buying a costly car u better have it atleast for five yrs

Actually, it is nice to have a new car and I have purchased many through the years (In fact, this summer I purchased a new Honda CRV), but several times during the past few years, I have purchased Program Cars from my dealer and have gotten great deals. The last program car I purchased was used as a rental car and purchased new in May and I purchased it in August with less than 9000 miles on it. I drove that thing until it had about 50000 on it and the dealer gave me a full GM warranty (bumper to bumper) until it had 41000 miles on it. I never had to put a penny in that car because warranty paid for everything that became an issue.

Anyhow, might want to check with your dealer, mine found one with the exact color, the exact miles I would accept and you can save literally thousands on a Dealer Program car.

No buying a car is not a waste of money until u maintain it well and can drive good enough with out causing accidents.

If you are a newbie to driving a car then buying a new car is pretty waste. Buy a second handed and drive it to get exprience and then buy a new one.
