Laptops in cars

Do you leave your laptop and other expensive equipment in your car when you leave it in a parking lot? I used to do that in the past but now for safety reasons I don't do it anymore.

I never leave anything I don't want stolen in my car. There are so many car break ins where I live that it's nuts. There is always someone looking to score a quick buck the wrong way instead of getting out there and working for the money. For whatever their reasons they don't want to work at McDonald's.

Absolutely not.

Even if the trunk is empty, along with the glove box: I've had vehicles stolen from my driveway when I was home, in one instance it meant that the baby's stroller, car seat, as well as half of my husbands cordless tools were lost (because they were in the trunk when the car was stolen).

Car theft has become such an issue, the city now has 'bait cars' in it's anti-theft repetoire.

No, I don't usually leave anything precious in my car, even when it is parked at home in the garage. DD I love the idea of your city having "bait cars". Whose cars are them?

No, no. You shouldn't leave anything in the car especially if you don't have your own garage. It's just too dangerous. One time my husband left some CDs and they smashed the car windows to steal them. So lessons learned.

We live in a small town and the crime is much less here. I know people around here who regularly leave their *car keys* in their car! I'm thankful that I don't have to worry as much about it (though we do not leave a lot of important things in there, and we DO lock it).

It seems to be the same everywhere. Seriously, what is it with thieves and cars? The town where I live is just an ordinary regular suburb, yet you can't even leave valuables in your own car in the driveway, especially if left unlocked. We've also had one of our car windows smashed for the CD player.
