Psychologically-Fueled Performance

Some friends and I sat around one day listing off things that make you *feel* like your car is performing better. Some of my favorite performance-enhancers, for example, are a new paint job, a decal sticker or two, and racing stripes. We figure the new paint job is worth around 20hp, the stickers just 2hp each, and the stripes are at least 30hp.

What "increases" performance for you, and how much hp do you *think* you'd get out of it?

New tires. :D They probably do help a little, but in my mind, I'm definitely going about 10mph faster than I would have been going using the same pressure on the accelerator with the old tires.

I must agree that tires always make a difference. When my rims look nice, I feel that my car is better. Also, right after an oil change. The little things do it for me :)

A tune up. While it's true that new spark plugs and spark plug wires improve performance for real, I think that my perspective makes me think it's improved a lot more than it really is!

OK, I am not good with all of this technical stuff, but I know that somehow my car gets "happy" and performs nicely when I get it washed and the oil changed, lol!
