Remote start?

Does your car have remote start? My friend has one and I have to say it seems really convenient. To get the defrost, heat or ac running 5 minutes before you're ready to leave would be awesome. Is it worth getting installed if my car didn't come with it?

My old Pontiac had one when I got the car. It was useful for cold mornings. You had to remember to turn the defrost and heat on though the night before. Otherwise it was almost pointless. When I would forgot it heated the engine up, but the car was still cold and frozen.

I don't have one but I think it would be great! I would love to get into an already cool car in the 100 degree summers. It might even help cool the leather and keep it from burning me.

We had one in our old car. It was great when we parked outside. Once we had a garage, not so much. It would have meant going downstairs and opening the garage door before turning the car on or we would have had fumes all over the house in no time.

My grandmother's car has that, and it is really nice to have the trunk opening as we get there when we go to the grocery! She doesn't usually *start* it from outside the car, though, but we live where it doesn't get that cold.

I've only seen one car that had a remote start and I thought it was really awesome. I can't believe there is even that option. Have you guys seen the new cars that can be started from your cell phone? So crazy!

I love the cell phone car start feature----what WILL they think of next? Are remote starts expensive or difficult to install from what you know?
